This is contrary to some hoax e-mails that had been circulated warning people that cellphone providers would soon be publishing a directory of mobile numbers.īy running a Google search of the number, it may return results from when ads were placed online. Online yellow pages searches for cell numbers will often tell you where the number is originated from and who the carrier or provider is, but that's likely all the information you'll get. Note that this does not always work for cellphone numbers. Some sites that provide this reverse phone directory service are: Some printed telephone books even have a section in the back where all the numbers are arranged in numerical order, but often times it's just easier to plug the number in to a search field online and find it that way. There are many websites that offer this search capability.
